“When He Said That, I Went Completely Cold”: Rosalía Shared The Absolutely Horrifying Thing A Boyfriend Once Said To Her, And Sadly, Women Everywhere Can Relate

Women everywhere are relating all too painfully to Spanish singer Rosalía’s shocking story about what a man said to her shortly after they rekindled their relationship, highlighting just how rampant and inherent misogyny really is.

For reference, the 33-year-old star opened up during a recent appearance on the Spanish podcast Special People Club, where she reflected on a difficult relationship that she had with a man — who she did not name — for several years.

“I had a boyfriend who was kind of ‘Morse code,’ you know?” she began. “Emotional Morse code. I remember we were together for a few years — I can’t even say exactly how many — but we ended up breaking up.”

“Then the typical thing happened: a relapse, a week after the breakup. We had a relapse, started seeing each other again, and got back together,” Rosalía went on. “At a certain point, out of nowhere, he drops a line on me. He turns to me and says: ‘How I missed my whore.’”

Needless to say, Rosalía was left stunned by this comment. She recalled: “When he said that, I went completely cold. I was in shock, paralyzed. Like a frozen strawberry ice cream, you know? I went flat, with no reaction at all. Horrible. Dead inside, lost. I couldn’t even respond. I was very, very shocked.”

“So that’s how I reacted: in that moment, I didn’t expect it at all and I just stayed there, without reacting,” Rosalía explained. “When I finally managed to react, I stood up, left, and never went back. Obviously. Goodbye.”

“That was very heavy for me,” she then concluded. “I was never able to forgive that.”

Needless to say, this story caused shockwaves across social media, but it also struck a chord with many women who sadly shared their similar experiences with men.

Responding to Rosalía’s quotes on a Reddit forum, one person wrote: “I once dated a guy who started using ‘my little dummy’ as a term of endearment. I had one conversation with him about how I found it offensive instead of cute and he told me I shouldn’t worry about it because he liked that I ‘didn’t try to be as smart’ as him. I broke up with him the next day.”

“I got back together with my ex for like two weeks and for like the fifth time (DONT DO IT), and oddly enough he said similar things to me. I noped out permanently and then ended up having solid proof he had been cheating the entire time (five years),” somebody else shared.

“When i first met my friends BF he called his ex ‘an old whore’. I remember everyone FROZE until someone was like ‘Excuse me, did you just… call your ex a whore?’. The atmosphere was interesting afterwards. I havent had a conversation with him since, and they’ve been together for soon five years 🤪” one more added.

Others were just horrified by the whole thing, with one comment reading: “Jaw damn near hit the floor. This man really thought that was the right thing to say??? Lort, this world is falling off the bone at this point 😩”

Another observed: “Men really think this kind of shit is endearing to us, as if we should take it as a compliment… tf,” but somebody else countered: “They don’t think it’s endearing, they’re telling you how they see you. It’s not that complicated.”

While one more concluded: “Misogyny strikes again 😞”
