Last week, rumors began circulating online that Vanessa — who was married to Kobe Bryant for 19 years before his sudden death in February 2020 — was expecting another baby. For context, Kobe and Vanessa welcomed four children together: Natalia, 22, Bianka, 8, Capri, 5, and Gianna, the latter of whom tragically died alongside her father at 13 years old.
It’s not exactly clear where the recent pregnancy claims arose from, particularly in light of the fact that Vanessa has not publicly dated anyone since Kobe died. However, the lack of evidence didn’t stop people from discussing the rumor on social media.
Now, it seems Vanessa has set the record straight. On Sunday, the 43-year-old posted a meme of Rihanna to her Instagram Story. The photograph showed a carefree Rih floating in water and flipping off the camera, with goggles on her head and a drink in her hand. “Me protecting my peace, not pregnant & having fun all summer,” the caption read, alongside some summery emojis.
The mom of four didn’t explicitly mention the online speculation, however, given the timing and the memes she chose, I think the message is pretty clear.
