“Shitting in the garbage can in the bathroom, repeatedly.”

“So, we hired this new lady and soon after we started having a bizarre problem. The garbage can in the staff women’s bathroom kept getting moved next to the toilet, and the bathroom stank!

After a bit, it got noticed for the first time that there was a full on faecal log in that garbage can, which was the source of the smell. Now, this was in an assisted living facility with a memory care ward, so it was gross but entirely possible it was either a resident who got back there or something like a resident assistant very incorrectly cleaning up a mess left by a resident. 

So we left like a reminder not to throw things like that into the normal garbage, there’s are a few ‘biohazard’ waste cans anything with blood or faeces should go in. It didn’t happen again for a bit, so we thought it was resolved. Nope, it happened again. And again. And then we had to solve the mystery of the phantom shitter.

Long story short, we eventually traced it back to one of our new servers. She had been going into the bathroom, dragging the can over by the toilet in order to literally sit on the can, feet on the toilet lid, and shit directly in the garbage. She was already a little… Tightly wound and rather strange, but we didn’t think it was this level.

Boy, that mask came off quick when she was talked to, and it went from a ‘What the absolute fuck?’ meeting to a ‘You can leave now or we’re calling the police’ one as she lost it, screaming and throwing things around the office, storming back and forth getting red faced. I feel bad, she needed help, but we weren’t in a position to provide it. And if she was doing things like that, I don’t think we can trust her hygiene to work in food service, especially for people with compromised immune systems.”
