Basically, this move that Trump is referring to as the “single largest deregulatory action in American history” means that there will be a lot less regulations on greenhouse gas emissions.
Understandably, people are worried about this repeal. A reporter asked Trump what he would say to Americans concerned about the effects this deregulation could have on public health and the environment.
To which Trump replied, “Don’t worry about it.”
He went on to say the repeal has “nothing to do with public health” and that the original findings were “all a scam” and a “ripoff of the country by Obama and Biden.”
“[Americans will] have more money to spend for healthcare, if you look at it,” he continued. “And they can go out and spend it on something that’s meaningful. And, nobody’s doing more for healthcare than the Republican party.”
Naturally, people had a lot to say about Trump’s little “don’t worry about it” comment. One user wrote, “If this orange clown says so… I guess we shouldn’t worry!”
“Ahh yes, don’t worry about it. Yeah, that will put them at ease.”
“Being able to breathe clean air is a scam? OK. What am I being scammed out of exactly. Allergies? Lung cancer?”
“What an idiot. Let’s pollute the air, enabling you to save a few hundred dollars on buying a car, and then you can spend many thousands of dollars to address you asthma and breathing issues.”
“i literally think he wakes up everyday and thinks of ways to make everyone’s life but his miserable.”
“He doesn’t give a shit about anything.”
“Once again, Trump is putting corporate fossil fuel profits over Americans’ health and safety. Hell no,” Rep. Ilhan Omar tweeted.
