People are reacting to President Donald Trump’s “disgusting” post following the death of Rob and Michele Reiner.
The actor-director was an outspoken political activist throughout his career, championing causes like same-sex marriage. He was critical of Trump, saying of the president in September, “It’s really gotten to a very, very scary place in this country, and we’re going to have to figure out how to dig ourselves out of this before it’s too long. But we have got to keep speaking out. Everybody has to keep speaking out.”
Yesterday, Rob and his wife, Michele, were found dead in an apparent homicide. His death has been mourned by liberal leaders, such as Barack Obama, who wrote, “Beneath all of the stories he produced was a deep belief in the goodness of people—and a lifelong commitment to putting that belief into action. Together, he and his wife lived lives defined by purpose. They will be remembered for the values they championed and the countless people they inspired. We send our deepest condolences to all who loved them.”
The president then took to his platform Truth Social to describe Rob as a “tortured and struggling, but once very talented movie director and comedy star.”
He then claimed that the couple had died “reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS. He was known to have driven people CRAZY by his raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump, with his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump Administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness, and with the Golden Age of America upon us, perhaps like never before.”
