This Viral Break-Up Question Is Healing People In Unexpected Ways

This Viral Break-Up Question Is Helping People Heal

Threads user @_demirep recently shared an internal question she’s having after a breakup:

Her post has garnered nearly 70,000 views on the platform, with hundreds of people leaving their best words of wisdom to help her find comfort. Below is some of the advice that seems to be resonating with others:

“For me, it was grieving the ‘potential’ I saw in him. I had to realize that potential that isn’t tapped into is simply just potential, nothing more 🤷🏽‍♀️. And I was hindering myself by staying.”

“Grieving the effort you put in. Grieving the comfort in the patterns you used to have. Grieving the person you once were in that situation.”

“Grief is a form of detachment.”

“Disappointment and grief feel the same inside your body. Grab a journal and begin to describe exactly what you feel. Write your way into understanding the difference. Write your way into recognizing disgust. Write your way into forgiving yourself. Write your way free.”

“Sometimes we’re not grieving what it was, we’re grieving what we hoped it would become!”

“A lot of times, it’s the grief over the possibilities coming to an end. The grief over wasted time, regret for not doing something differently or sooner. The grief from loss of ideas or the future.”

“We don’t talk about it a lot in our culture, but grieving possibilities is like grieving a death. Love doesn’t have to make analytical sense. It’s so hard, but let it be hard so you can let it go. ♥️”

“Because you wanted them to care enough to change for you.”

“It was a place of comfort, even though you were not happy. It was familiar to you, and it’s what you knew even in unhappiness, and you probably were hoping for a change that never came. Totally understandable, and grief is a part of your healing process. Allow yourself to go through the stages of your healing and elevation. God is close to the broken-hearted. 💕”

“Girl, we grieve because of US. What we brought to the table, what we did for them, what WE thought they would be like. They got us lost in delusion. We don’t get our time, love, or energy back.”

“It’s the delusion wearing off. Soon you will be frustrated, then you will see why things had to happen the way they did. You will slowly, but surely, be happy again. It’s all a part of God’s perfect plan for your life.”

“Snake year… shedding of the skin. It ends on February 17, so you’ll feel dramatically different very, very soon, my dear 💖✨.”

“You’re grieving the reality of someone’s audacity that never had the capacity to carry you as the gem you are. You’ll come out on the other side even better. 💕”

“Sometimes toxic environments still bring comfort, like if we grew up around it.”

“You’re grieving the old self that you are leaving behind. It feels like dying, and you are mourning an old version of you.”

“Life is the most magnificent divine mirror 🪞 You’re learning a new story, a new perspective about a part of you that is ready to be fully accepted and loved. ❤️‍🔥🫶🏻”

And, lastly: “Your brain still sees the vision with them. Start daydreaming about new goals, new experiences-start manifesting the types of people you want to be around, and your brain will start a new chapter!”
