There’s a viral conversation currently floating around X that has to do with child-free weddings, so let’s get into it.
After stating that she sees newborns as “nonexistent,” she clarified her reasons why, saying that they mostly sleep.
So, she doesn’t really see them in the same category as “children.”
People quickly chimed in to share their thoughts and experiences, like another mom @Romy_Holland, who said she was upset she couldn’t attend a wedding her partner was in with her baby because newborns were, in fact, considered kids.
But others backed the claim that even 1-day-old babies are still children.
So, with all the back and forth, @LizWolfeReason remained confused on whether or not newly-birthed babies are 100% children.
As expected, people came in to say that their crying makes them VERY real.
Some believe it is really up to the bride and groom to decide if this newborn would be counted as a child, and if you are questioning this, you should ask them.
This made @LizWolfeReason hyper aware of how she would look to others if her baby was “approved” to come to this wedding.
Needless to say, there are multiple conversations happening, like if it is necessary to even bring a 3-week-old baby to a wedding to begin with.
Because a lot of people think it is not.
Currently, the conversation is still ongoing.
So, we want to hear your thoughts on this. Or if you think excluding children at weddings is unreasonable, given that your guests will have to pay for childcare, etc. Let us know in the comments, or in the anonymous comments form below:
