As we all know, pregnancy often leaves behind stretch marks. They happen when the middle layer of your skin (the dermis) tears due to rapid stretching or changes in tension.
And, although stretch marks are mostly talked about after pregnancy, anyone can get them…
For example, stretch marks on the hips and thighs are very common. They tend to appear when the skin stretches quickly due to growth spurts, weight changes, muscle gain, hormonal shifts, or genetics, which can make someone more prone to them. This area naturally changes shape over time, so these marks are simply a normal sign of the body developing and adapting.
And, even though it isn’t talked about as much, men get stretch marks just as easily as women! Many guys develop them on their arms during growth spurts or when they build muscle, especially from weightlifting.
