If you had a kitchen in the early 2000s, you probably had a kitchen rooster — or several. I don’t know why it was roosters specifically, but there were rooster salt and pepper shakers, door stops, wallpaper, little figurines, backsplashes, valences (see above), plates, and so many carved out of wood.
