Russell Brand is pretty much the last person you’d want to hear from about anything. Nonetheless, we continue to hear from him.
You probably know that Russell was previously married to Katy Perry. They got hitched in 2010 and split in 2012.
You probably also know that Katy is currently dating this man — former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau — after her recent split from longtime partner Orlando Bloom.
The Daily Beast reports that, despite the overwhelming lack of demand to hear from him on the topic, Russell recently addressed Katy and Justin’s relationship during an appearance at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest event.
After referring to Justin as a “globalist stooge,” Russell said, “Look, Katy Perry, I was married to her. I love her still, and I’m glad that her mom is in the room to hear me say this, but look. I was OK with Orlando Bloom. But Justin Trudeau? C’mon, man! Don’t put me in a category with that guy!”
About that “mom is in the room” bit — Katy’s mother Mary Hudson was apparently in attendance with her husband Keith, and Russell went out of his way to directly address them.
“My ex-wife’s parents are here. They’re Christians and I love them. I love Mary Perry,” Russell said. “God bless you, thank you for bringing the message to me.”
