What do you think Robert Pattinson would smell like? Something cool? Something dark and mysterious? What about crayons?
Apparently, it’s not as random as it sounds. Robert himself just admitted that he actually used to smell like literal crayons.
And it’s not the first time he’s said it. In 2020, the Twilight star told Allure, “Lots of people tell me I smell like a crayon.” Fortunately, when GQ recently asked if that still holds up, Rob said no. “I think that something has changed,” he explained. “My body chemistry has changed. It’s very strange. But I 100% used to smell exactly like a crayon.”
Rob said that as he’s gotten older, he’s become “less scented.” Now, he doesn’t “really notice” his smell anymore, but he definitely “used to have a very particular, pronounced smell.”
“A crayon-y one,” he added. “Before that, it was quite a kind of vicious, vicious scent. And then something, I think, when it became crayon-y, it was like something died. I guess the seven-year cycle…. Maybe I was smelling of crayons when one self died, and when a new self was born, it was less scented.”
Rob also shared that he now struggles to “smell anything” at all. “It’s so weird,” he continued. “I have to get a lot to smell anything at all. Which I don’t understand. You can be going to the gym and stuff, I’m like, Okay, I don’t smell anymore.”
Naturally, the interviewer asked whether Robert had ever had COVID since that can affect your sense of smell. He laughed. “I actually did lose my sense of smell for a bit, and it took me months to realize that I’d lost it,” Robert said, adding, “I have it back now…I think.”
Well, okay! I don’t know if this is another instance of Rob trolling or if he’s being serious, but either way, I’m glad he’s no longer walking around smelling like Crayolas. Progress, I guess!
