As a member of the literal royal family, it’s fair to say that Prince Harry is as British as they come. However, he has become somewhat of an honorary American in recent years, having moved from London to California in 2020.
I’m sure you know that Harry married American star Meghan Markle back in 2018, and the happy couple are currently raising their two children in sunny Montecito.
And after five years in the US, Harry appears to have learned a thing or two — with the prince’s response to being asked to put on an American accent during a recent podcast appearance impressing people.
In case you missed it, Harry’s appearance on the Hasan Minhaj Doesn’t Know podcast was released on Wednesday, and partway through the conversation, host Hasan made the request.
“Can you do an American accent?” he asked, to which Harry earnestly replied: “Erm, which part of America?”
This question has sparked admiration online, with one popular comment on a TikTok video of the exchange reading: “Finally a Brit that gets it. He said ‘which part of America.’”
If you’re wondering, Hasan told Harry that he can do “any” American accent, before giving him the sentence: “I ordered breakfast with ranch dressing at Applebees” to imitate. With Hasan’s guidance, Harry then uttered a phrase that no prince has ever uttered before, saying with a questionable US twang: “I love Applebees!”
If you’re wondering, Meghan previously revealed that her and Harry’s children, six-year-old Archie and four-year-old Lilibet, mostly speak with an American accent, but say some words in their dad’s English accent, including “Zebra.”
