If you’re reasonably healthy, you can deposit $800 to $2000 per month into a high-interest savings account to be able to use and pay out of pocket for normal visits – likely have money left over. Getting a catastrophic plan for huge emergencies only (cancer, car accident that isn’t covered, etc.) is the way to go.

And…if the Obamacare subsidies aren’t reinstated now that Republicans have stripped them out, this is going to be double the cost, as insurance will be completely unaffordable for over 75% of families starting next year.”
