People Are Freaked Out That This Vanity Fair Article From 2006 Seemingly Predicted The Future

Viral 2006 Vanity Fair Article Predicted America Today

Looking back, it’s hard to believe that anyone in 2006 could have imagined the state of the world today. But shockingly, it seems like someone might’ve done just that. Over on Threads, this old Vanity Fair article from December 2006 (published in their January 2007 issue) is going viral for being an EERILY accurate prediction of what America looks like today…

In particular, people are struck by some specific lines from their resident astrologer, Michael Lutin: “Over the next 19 years or so, America as a Cancer nation will have to deal with troubling confrontations and competition such as it has never known, as well as an internal political struggle, all of which will shake us to our very core.”

Lutin continues on to say, “The words’ patriot’ and ‘treason’ will lose their meaning, and in some cases, they will become interchangeable. What is treason to one person will be patriotism to another.”

“The greatest time of upheaval will be between 2015 and 2019, when the square of Uranus in Aries to Pluto in Capricorn will create the seeds of revolution everywhere.”

“The Pluto return of 2025 will demand a redefinition of the United States and create the ultimate identity crisis.”

And lastly, this bit: “It is a necessary and inevitable step in the evolution of this country that will result in a reworking of the Constitution in the last half of the 2020s.”

Unsurprisingly, in present-day 2026, people are pretty perturbed by Lutin’s predictions. “What in the holy fucking Nostradamus is this?”

“A little on the nose, right?”

“I’ve read this before and the accuracy always gets me.”

“Didn’t even need astrology to predict any of this.”

And finally, this person shared their thoughts pretty succinctly. “No thank you. Get me the fuck out of this timeline.”

Now I have to know: what do you think? Is this astrological prediction hitting a little too close to home? Is this all Pluto’s fault? Let us know in the comments.
