Game of Thrones has given us lots of unmistakable and memorable quotes, from “Winter is coming,” to the iconic “Dracarys.”
Of course, there are some political quotes that couldn’t possibly be confused with Game of Thrones quotes, such as this one from Bernie Sanders: “We must resolve that health care is a human right, not a privilege.”
Yet sometimes, unless you’re a history scholar or a true Game of Thones encyclopedia (or both), it’s surprisingly difficult to tell apart statements real politicians have said from straight out of Westeros.
After all, many of the characters on Game of Thrones share attributes with real-life politicians, from bursts of clarity to bloodthirsty war-mongering to pure stupidity, unfortunate horniness, hypocrisy, and everything around and in between.
