But what he recently said about lawnmowers has reeeeally raised some eyebrows.
“Farming equipment has gotten too expensive,” Trump said when speaking from the Cabinet Room earlier this week. “And a lot of the reason is because they put these ‘environmental excesses’ on the equipment, which don’t do a damn thing except make it complicated, make it impractical.”
“And, frankly, you really have to be…in many cases, you need about 185 IQ to turn on a lawnmower,” he said.
Yeah…just to put that statement into perspective — Einstein’s IQ was reportedly about 160. So, the E = mc2 guy was 25 IQ points shy of being smart enough to “turn on” a lawnmower, by Trump’s metrics.
To be clear, starting a lawnmower doesn’t take a doctorate. Just a simple WikiHow search, if you’re reaaaaally stuck.
Online, everyone is collectively saying “HUH?!?!?!?!?!” in response to this bizarre lawnmower rant, including Gavin Newsom. Because, duh.
“’Turn on’ a lawnmower. Spoken like someone who has never, not once, started a lawnmower.”
“Oh his brain is fried, fried.”
“And that’s not even the stupidest thing he has ever said.”
“What. The. Actual. Fuck.”
“I…I honestly don’t even know what the fuck to say anymore…how in the actual flying fuck did so many people think that THIS was the person that should be running the fucking country?”
“Yes, who can forget the late, great Stephen Hawking going town to town turning on lawnmowers for people every summer.”
And lastly, “I mean when you think a cognitive test is hard a lawnmower does seem a bit much.”
Thoughts? Are you one of the privileged few geniuses who can start a lawnmower? Let us know in the comments.
