Millennials Are Discussing The Fact That So Many Of Our Parents “Charged Us Rent” When We Turned 18, And How It Often Did More Harm Than Good

Recently, Reddit user nomanskyprague1993 wrote a post in r/Millennials that sparked a lively discussion. They stated: “I’m never going to charge my child for living with me.”

“As soon as I hit 18, I had to start paying rent at home. I think this was a normal way for millennials growing up to learn responsibility. I get it, but for some reason I found it quite insulting. I promised myself I will never charge my child to live with me.”
