Meryl Streep’s home was among those in danger from the Los Angeles fires earlier this month.
Her nephew Abe Streep shared an anecdote about his aunt’s escape with New York Magazine, and that story is all over my timeline.
“My aunt Meryl Streep received an order to evacuate on Jan. 8, but when she tried to leave, she discovered that a large tree had fallen over in her driveway, blocking her only exit,” he said. “Determined to make it out, she borrowed wire cutters from a neighbor, cut a car-size hole in the fence she shared with the neighbors on the other side, and drove through their yard to escape.”
Yes, Meryl Streep apparently cut a car-sized hole in her fence with borrowed wire cutters.
Either way, I can only imagine being those neighbors watching Meryl cut a big ol’ hole through that fence.
