This week, Mariah Carey was honored with the Icon Award at the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards.
And part of the celebration included a tribute performance by none other than Grammy-winning singer Muni Long.
As Muni belted out the tune, the camera panned to Mariah, who I’ll just say looked VERY unimpressed.
While everyone sang and rocked along, Mariah sat looking unenthused before appearing to throw some serious side-eye to Anderson .Paak, who was seated alongside her.
Her reaction obviously went super viral, with many viewers accusing Mariah of shading the “After Hours” singer.
However, Mariah insists that’s not the case and that she actually really loved the performance. Yesterday, she took to Instagram to gush over both Muni and Tori’s renditions.
Sharing a picture of the three of them together, Mariah wrote, “So beyond grateful for these two gorgeous, uber-talented, kind, incredible musicians who made my heart so full of joy with their tribute performances at the @iheartradio awards.”
Mariah added, “I love and appreciate you so much!!!” before tagging both singers in the post.
Muni reposted the message on her Instagram Story. She also said on a livestream that Mariah had told her privately that she did a great job covering her song.
