This is a great question! Yes, it’s true that we largely pull our data from government-led agencies like the Bureau of Labor Statistics and the US Energy Information Administration. And yes, I’d be lying if I said I don’t get a bit concerned about misleading stats. 

However, there are a few points that bring me confidence in our data:

2. Many employees at these agencies have worked there for YEARS. They’ve crunched the numbers under different presidents — regardless of their party — and throughout different eras in America. When Trump bullies them, and he has, these economists are quick to call it out in a very public way and refuse to bend.
