Since the news broke, subsequent reports on the fallout have come fast and furious. We already know that Katy is allegedly dealing with the unexpected situation of being a single mother to her and Orlando’s child Daisy.
Earlier today, posts circulated from Orlando’s IG that gestured towards “new beginnings” — as concrete of a suggestion as any that the split, which neither star have yet acknowledged in an official fashion, is really for real.
Now, People has new reports on what may have led to the split — and it sounds like their relationship wasn’t doing well for a minute.
“Katy and Orlando have been suffering through the same problems that have plagued them for years,” a source tells the publication. “[They had] too much going on in their lives, which makes it hard to find time for each other and iron out disagreements. When they don’t communicate properly, their relationship dips to a low level.”
The source adds that the couple had been “living on an island of stress” and that “Things have been rocky” well before their reported parting of ways.
A second source tells People that Katy and Orlando’s split has been “sad and unpleasant.” “Sometimes love isn’t enough to keep two people with different styles and outlooks on how things are done [together],” they add. “It can overshadow the love.”
