@cspanofficial Vice President JD Vance on Monday wished former President Biden well following his cancer diagnosis, but also said it raises questions about how transparent the Biden administration was being about his health. “First of all, of course, we wish the best for the former president’s health. You know, it sounds pretty serious, but hopefully he makes the right recovery,” the vice president said aboard Air Force Two after meeting with Pope Leo XIV at the Vatican. “Whether the right time to have this conversation is now or at some point in the future, we really do need to be honest about whether the former president was capable of doing the job.” Vice President Vance said he didn’t believe President Biden was in “good enough health” to do the job. “In some ways, I blame him less than I blame the people around him,” he said. “Why didn’t the American people have a better sense of his health picture? Why didn’t the American people have more accurate information about what he was actually dealing with? This is serious stuff.” The former president was diagnosed Friday with an aggressive form of prostate cancer that has metastasized to his bones after a nodule was discovered on his prostate following urinary symptoms. “While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive which allows for effective management,” his office said in a statement.
