On Aug. 15, Jamie attended a special Freakier Friday screening at the El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles, where guests were encouraged to “Dress Like Tess [Coleman],” Jamie’s character from the movies.
Jamie shared a group photo with several attendees on her Instagram, each dressed in pixie wigs and bohemian flower dresses like Tess from the first Freaky Friday movie.
Jamie joined in on the fun, dressing up in one of Tess’s outfits from the sequel — an off-the-shoulder, safety-pinned gray suit with a large black belt.
After Jamie’s outfit went viral, she playfully chimed, writing in a Aug. 20 Instagram post, “I LOVE the fact that the LAST photograph of me as TESS taken backstage in costume from my surprise appearance at @elcapitanthtre to support #freakierfriday has gotten more attention than any other since the announcement post with @lindsaylohan that sparked the movie getting made! HAPPY TO HELP SPREAD THE JOY THAT OUR MOVIE SERVES!”
The Freakier Friday “Tess” outfit went viral on TikTok after Disney Studios shared a promotional video featuring Jamie, with everyone obsessing over her “supporting characters.”
One user wrote, “Wait. Why didn’t I know Jamie Lee Curtis’ body was tea like that.”
Another person said, “I was not familiar with your game before Jamie Lee Curtis.”
“Jamie said we selling tickets one way or another,” someone else wrote.
