Following a tragic death in the cast and reports of behind-the-scenes drama, it seemed unlikely that Euphoria would ever return to our screens. But, against the odds, Season 3 has been filmed, and it looks set to premiere on HBO in April 2026.
Season 2 aired in early 2022, and since then, many of the cast members’ careers have taken off in big ways. So, when it was confirmed that the teen drama was actually coming back, fans had questions about how the show’s in-demand stars, like Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, and Hunter Schafer, would feel about returning to Euphoria High.
Now, during a conversation with Gwyneth Paltrow for Variety’s Actors on Actors, 28-year-old Jacob, who is hotly tipped to score an Oscar nomination for Frankenstein next month, shared a few words about the upcoming season of Euphoria — and he doesn’t sound all that enthusiastic.
“I finished filming just recently, and it’s a completely different thing,” Jacob said, which prompted Gwyneth to ask if his character, Nate Jacobs, has gotten any “nicer” since Seasons 1 and 2.
“I really do think so,” the Aussie actor replied, before expressing some doubts about the show’s comeback. “Whether it works or not, I don’t know. There’s a chance that what we’ve done — what I’ve done — is not good. I’m not sure.”
Well, that’s kinda making me nervous?! Jacob’s comments come just a week after the show’s creator, Sam Levinson, confirmed some details about the upcoming season, including that there’s been a five-year time-jump in the story since we left off.
Notably, one of Sam’s biggest revelations was that Jacob’s character, Nate, is engaged to Sydney Sweeney’s Cassie, and that they get married in Season 3 — which I can already tell is gonna be an all-time messy TV episode.
