“Angry to enraged to exhausted. I swing back and forth between those a lot. Deeply, deeply embarrassed. Equally as disappointed that people, even people I know, chose this and continue to support it. Betrayed. Lied to by the generation before mine, who promised me the America they grew up in. Now a large majority of them want this like they intend to burn it all to the ground before they go after taking everything they possibly can and refusing to give my generation or those behind me even a fair shot at taking the reins.”

“Like I’m grieving for my country and the ideals behind it. And for my pride in it. Of course, as an adult, I know the full extent of the wrongs committed by the US government, but that doesn’t mean I have given up on the ideals that it was founded on and hope for the future. Progress may have been slow, but it was happening, and now it’s been obliterated… Actually, the worst part is knowing that the America I grew up in is being taken away from my nieces and nephews and the younger generation, and no one is doing anything about it. I don’t understand how people can be so selfish as to do that. None of it’s good, or hopeful, or positive. I hate it. I hate it all.”
