I Played “The Land Of Boggs: Decor Dash” Mobile Game, And I’m Highkey Obsessed

“Land Of Boggs: Decor Dash” Mobile Game Review

I don’t know about you, but I’ve spent wayyy too much time doomscrolling lately. It would probably be healthy to cut down on screentime in general, but it’s tough to break the habit overnight. One thing I’ve found that really helps? Keeping fun games on my phone.

Recently, I decided to download a new mobile game, The Land of Boggs: Decor Dash. Based on the BuzzFeed Animation Studios series The Land of Boggs, the objective of the game is to help Boggo (an adorable “socially anxious neat freak”) earn money to decorate her new home. I would die for Boggo.

Read on below to follow my thoughts as I play The Land of Boggs: Decor Dash for the first time:

As soon as I open the app, I’m introduced to Boggo, who’s moving into a new apartment. Except…it doesn’t have any furniture! And she needs (gasp!) money to buy the furniture. This game is already way too relatable.

Here’s how the game works: Playing as Boggo, you run through crowded city streets to collect gold coins and gems. You’ll rack up points, which you can use to buy furniture. Sounds simple enough, right? The thing is, these streets are really busy — you’ve got to watch out for cars, roadway signs, and other dangerous obstacles. Also keep your eyes peeled for a thief, who’s named…”Thief.”

Okay, I think I’m ready to dive into the real action now! Looks like all I have to do is tap the screen to kick things off. On your mark, get set…

…look at Boggo go! To run and jump, I simply glide my finger across the screen. There are also sometimes useful tools like flying capes, speed lanes, and coin vacuums scattered along the route.

AGHHH! I ran right into a construction sign! Ugh, looks like I don’t have enough coins to revive Boggo…hmm, let’s see what happens if I just do nothing?

I’m so sorry, Boggo! Please forgive me.

Oh okay, phew, I guess all that happens is the run comes to an end. For a minute there, I was worried I had killed Boggo! Now let’s collect these coins, shall we?

Ooh, a bonus wheel! Money, money, money, gimme!

Now it’s time to begin decorating Boggo’s place. There’s a few different rooms, but the bedroom option is locked, so I guess I’ll start with the living room.

Boggo was thoughtful and prepared a to-do list. She seems very organized. Maybe she can also help me clean my IRL apartment (which I’m totally not procrastinating on right now).

The good news is, I finally have enough funds to buy Boggo some furniture! Yay! Let’s get a new armchair first. I like this green one best. It matches the sprinkles on Boggo’s drink.

Aww! Look at how happy Boggo is!

Shoot, I’m running low on money…

Welp. Guess it’s time to go for a run again!

Overall, I really enjoyed The Land of Boggs: Decor Dash — as someone who has ADHD, it feels like the perfect little dopamine boost. The gameplay is simple yet engrossing, and it doesn’t take long to learn how to navigate everything. I did find myself getting a little frustrated at how often I had to revive myself after running into objects, but TBH, that’s probably more of a “me” issue.

I also like that there are a few other activities and features you can check out when you want a break from running, like puzzles, side quests, and mystery boxes. It kind of feels like if Animal Crossing: Happy Home Paradise and Mario Party had a baby.

All in all, The Land of Boggs: Decor Dash is a solid mix of light action and cozy vibes, making it a good choice for casual gamers and anyone who isn’t looking for anything too stressful. If you like mobile games like Subway Surfers or Township, this might be for you. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to go help Boggo design the home of her dreams!

The Land of Boggs: Decor Dash is available to download for free on the Apple App Store and Google Play. Try the game out for yourself and tell us your thoughts in the comments!
