As for Frank. I completely agree that we can’t blame him for confiding in Paul, but now that he’s seen how that can impact you and your living situation, Frank also needs to draw boundaries about what he shares with Paul because we know he’s going to share everything with Brandy. If they’re close enough, maybe he can ask Paul to not share certain things with Brandy, but I don’t think that’s a safe bet. The two of them need to have an open conversation about how their communication needs to change in order for you and Brandy to get along. And I want to reiterate, whatever Brandy feels about that conversation is not of your concern. She is NOT your friend.
Perhaps you can suggest that Frank gets into counseling for a safe space to express himself. I think that could benefit both of you individually in several ways. You just went through something difficult, and processing it with a professional can’t hurt! I wish you both the best, and I’m super proud of you for supporting one another through this.
