One of the greatest gifts I ever received is A Treasury of Great Recipes, a 1965 cookbook written by Vincent Price and his wife Mary. I am a huge fan of Price the actor, so getting a sneak peak into his life as an international gourmand is very satisfying. The book is an incredible read and has remarkable, full-color pictures.
A cookbook is a great gift for the holidays, and a cookbook written by your loved one’s favorite celebrity has that personal touch you just can’t beat. It doesn’t matter how obscure a celebrity — it’s likely that you’ll find something out there. Here are some cookbook recommendations for your own stars of the kitchen.
No matter what you cook this holiday season, make sure to infuse it with love and care for your guests. It’s been a rough year for a lot of people, so if you are lucky enough to have a little extra, please consider donating to The Hollywood Food Coalition, a food rescue organization that is feeding Hollywood’s unhoused and food insecure every single day. They are very near and dear to my heart; I worked there through the pandemic and they even helped me out in my times of need.
