Jake Shane, aka @octopusslover8 on TikTok and host of the wildly popular podcast, Therapuss with Jake Shane, just announced his latest brand partnership with the iconic and nostalgic ice pop company, Popsicle. Influencer collabs with food brands in 2025 are a dime a dozen — but this particular partnership has become shockingly groundbreaking as the rare stunt that isn’t making people’s eyes roll. In fact, it’s doing the very opposite. Let me explain!
We all remember the feeling of grabbing a popsicle from the box of multiflavored ice pops as a kid, hoping and praying for your favorite flavor. And Jake has brought the unmitigated joy of getting a RED popsicle into his adulthood — and all of ours.
If you’re familiar with Jake, you’ll know about his “popsicle reveal” videos. In them, Jake and his friends each hold a popsicle and, one by one, with eyes closed, they unwrap popsicles. There is one flavor of Popsicle they prize over all others: red (aka cherry). They cheer when they unwrap a red one, and when they don’t…well, this is Jake’s reaction to getting an orange popsicle:

Jake told Tasty the tradition began when he realized his “free will” meant he could order popsicles as an adult. “My friends and I were bored,” he said, “and I was like, ‘I only really like the red ones.’ We thought it’d be funny to do a reveal, and when I posted one, people loved it. The excitement was real — we genuinely didn’t know what flavor we’d get, and I feel very passionate about cherry. It kind of became like the ‘bones/no bones day’ of popsicles.”
These videos have racked up millions of views, but the most recent popsicle reveal had a special twist that shocked both his friends and his followers.
Jake’s passion turned into an official collab: a limited-edition box of all-cherry Popsicles — complete with his face on the packaging. “Popsicle and I had been talking for a while,” he told Tasty when we spoke with him about the partnership. “When they said, ‘We’ll do an all-cherry box,’ I was like, ‘That’s it. That’s all I could want.’ It was perfect.”
The collab launched with a special popsicle reveal of its own, and this time, every unwrap was a cherry-red win worth cheering about.
Jake told us the fan reaction to this partnership is more than he could have hoped for, saying, “I expected people to be excited, but not this excited. It might be one of the most successful ads I’ve ever done, and that’s because it doesn’t feel like one. People are really, really happy about it, and so am I.”
He credits the success to staying true to what made his reveals fun in the first place. “The videos didn’t just perform well as ads; they performed well as content. When a brand listens to the creator, it pays off. Audiences can tell if you’re bullshitting. For me, this collab didn’t even feel like an ad — I would’ve done it for free.”
We only had one more concern… Does this all-cherry collab mean Jake is done with the popsicle reveals??? “No, no, no,” he laughed. “I don’t want people to think it’s the end. It’ll never be the end.”
