Whether you’re an established pro chef or a seasoned home cook, chances are there’s at least one dish you tried making from scratch, only to end up completely regretting it.
Trust me, I’ve been there. I once tried to make homemade salmon gravlax — a cured, smoked salmon-like dish — with a salmon I had caught on a fishing trip. It turned out to be disastrous. Not only did I spend days waiting for this salmon to cure, but it resulted in the saltiest fish I had ever tasted in my life. I had to throw it away because it was virtually inedible.
Now, I’m curious about your most regrettable cooking endeavor. What’s a dish you tried to make from scratch and failed at?
