Interest in the moment grew this week after Brooklyn released a bombshell statement detailing his fallout with his family after, he says, they tried “endlessly to ruin [his relationship]” with Nicola Peltz Beckham even before their 2022 wedding. Brooklyn claimed that amid tensions, Victoria canceled “making Nicola’s dress in the eleventh hour… forcing her to urgently find a new dress.” He also confirmed years-old reports that she allegedly stole the limelight at their wedding, when she took over a planned dance meant for him and his wife.
He said, “My mum hijacked my first dance with my wife, which had been planned weeks in advance to a romantic love song. In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead.”
Brooklyn claimed that Victoria “danced very inappropriately on [him] in front of everyone,” making him the most “uncomfortable” and “humiliated” he had ever felt. He also said that when they renewed their vows last August, they did so to “create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment.”
According to People, Brooklyn and Nicola are the only ones in possession of the video and would be embarrassed if it was ever released.
“It’s an extremely embarrassing moment for them and it would not be good for Brooklyn’s mental health to see this circulating online,” a source said. “It’s one of the most humiliating moments of his life and he doesn’t want it to be seen by the world.”
While the video might never see the light of day, a source previously shared how the moment allegedly unfolded.
Last May, a source told People: “Marc Anthony, who is a friend of the Beckhams, offered to perform as a gift at the wedding. Before the song began, Marc Anthony asked Brooklyn to come to the stage, and then announced, ‘The most beautiful woman in the room tonight, come on up…Victoria Beckham!'”
“It was such a jaw-dropping moment that it left the whole room in absolute shock — you could hear a pin drop,” a second source added.
“Nicola felt like Victoria did this on purpose, when she knew it was a pre-planned romantic dance meant for Brooklyn and Nicola,” the source said. “What she couldn’t understand was why.”
