There were so many allegations contained in the statement that you should probably read up on the whole situation — but what grabbed a lot of eyes was the claims that Brooklyn made on behalf of himself and his wife Nicola Peltz, especially regarding how his family has treated Nicola leading up to (and during!) their wedding.
Along with alleging that Brooklyn’s family confronted him the night before the wedding and said Nicola was “not blood,” the statement also claimed that Victoria had effectively ruined Brooklyn’s first dance with Nicola during their wedding.
“My mum hijacked my first dance with my wife, which had been planned weeks in advance to a romantic love song,” he wrote. “In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead. She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life.”
Now, People has some reports regarding the situation at hand — and, I gotta say, it doesn’t seem like anything will be getting better any time soon.
For starters, a source close to Brooklyn says that the couple feel “so beaten down” by the year-plus feud that they’ve been engaged in with the rest of the Beckham family. A source close to the Peltz family notes that them and the Beckhams are “so different,” but if you think that indicates some tone of diplomacy…think again.
“Victoria and Nicola got along in the first few months, but then Victoria started acting like a jealous girlfriend,” the source alleges. “She seemed so jealous of Nicola.”
What’s more, a source close to the Beckhams alleges that it’s the other way around. “Nicola is the one who is jealous of Victoria,” they claim. “She wants to be famous.”
Nevertheless! The Beckhams source also claims that David and Victoria are being cautious about how they address the situation in public for a few reasons — including their ever-burgeoning brand empire. “They have to be strategic and smart about moves they make,” an insider claims, while another says that the couple are “very strategic about everything they do because they are basically a billion-dollar corporation.”
The source close to the Beckhams also emphasizes that, on their end anyway, Victoria and David still see a path to reconciliation. “They always supported Brooklyn in everything,” they claim, later adding that “David and Victoria believe that over time Brooklyn will come back. But they can’t do anything until then.”
Another source alleges that a path to reconciliation could still exist — but it sounds extremely, and possibly unfairly, conditional. “The Beckhams have no intention of reconciling with their son unless Nicola is out of the picture,” they claim to People. “But that’s not an ultimatum he’s going to cave on. Brooklyn has felt more support from his wife in these past three years than from his parents in his entire life.”
Good grief! We’ve asked all parties for further comment here — and, as always, if we hear back, you’ll be the first to know.
