Employees Are Trauma-Bonding Over Holiday Work Party Scandals, And I’m Taking Notes (For HR)

10.

“A co-worker was fired from our company for calling in sick at least once a week and her work ethic. She trash talked the company, then got hired back. She went on to throw herself at our only male employee, whose girlfriend at the time (now-wife) also worked there. Said employee got pregnant, and his girlfriend found out from senior management. Pregnant employee pushed people to take sides and manipulated others into feeling sorry for her when she made the choice to throw herself at him knowing he was in a relationship. Right before our holiday party, the girlfriend spoke with leadership about how she felt regarding the situation, and broke down in tears because of all the drama. She was told to stop crying and grow up. Everyone was on edge, and nobody wanted to be there.”

“Many people realized that leadership caused the drama by hiring the employee back because they knew what she was about: herself. The baby was born after Christmas, and she rubbed it in the girlfriend’s face about the pregnancy and birth of their child so much that the girlfriend broke down in tears nearly every day.”
