Ellen Pompeo Reflected On The Backlash She Faced When Her $20M “Grey’s” Salary Was Made Public

Explaining that her manager warned her that plenty of people would not be happy with her pay increase, Ellen admitted, “That had never occurred to me.” 

As the pair discussed the backlash Ellen faced, Alex said, “Men just do not experience this level of scrutiny when it comes to money.” Ellen agreed, adding: “It’s a lot, and it’s patriarchy and it’s misogyny…Sports players are celebrated for their contracts. Not saying they’re not worth it, but I mean, it’s OK for them to celebrate it.”
