Most of the responses to Elmo’s post were nice! His old friend Rosita responded adorably, saying, “I agree, Elmito!”
“Millions agree with you, Elmo,” someone tweeted, alongside a photo of the billboard that said, “The only thing more powerful than hate is love,” from the halftime show.

“The Halftime Show was so wholesome! I knew you’d like it Elmo. It was as family-friendly as it gets.”

Buuuuut, unfortunately, since the internet is the internet, not every response was positive.
Since Elmo did what he does best (be sweet), conservatives obviously did what THEY do best in response (freak out for no reason). “How can you read stuff like this and not realize how desperate the Dems are,” one tweet read.
A lot of people are pointing out how utterly STRANGE this one-sided beef with a puppet is. “Republicans are so racist they’re in the comments arguing with a 3 and 1/2 year old puppet from a children’s television show,” one person wrote.
