Brooks Nader is getting real about all the cosmetic work she’s had done — as well as her apparent “GLP-1 addiction.”
In a new interview with Bustle, the model and reality TV personality revealed all the cosmetic procedures she’s undergone so far — specifically, a nose job, veneers, and “countless” injectables ranging from salmon sperm to a Botox neck lift.
“People say I look like Michael Jackson,” she said regarding her nose job. When it comes to the neck lift, she quipped, “Every Christmas, you can catch me looking like Freddy Krueger.” At least she has a sense of humor!
Brooks also revealed that she began using GLP-1 medications after a previous modeling agency told her to lose 30 pounds, in case you were wondering just how toxic the fashion industry continues to be.
“The facts are that when I started GLP-1, my career took off,” she said. “I’m not saying it’s OK. I’m not saying it’s right. I think everybody is different — but I lost 30 pounds, and I booked all the jobs.”
So, if you’ve watched Brooks’ Hulu show Love Thy Nader (which, I’ll admit, good title), you might already know that the show itself depicts what might be termed as unhealthy GLP-1 usage on her behalf. In one episode, her sisters intervene after she was found nearly unconscious in a tub as a result of GLP-1 usage and mostly limiting her food intake to bone broth.
While addressing that scene in particular, Brooks said, “The thing that I was so shocked about with the show was that I had so many people reach out to me saying ‘I’m also addicted to GLP-1. I’m ashamed to talk about it because there’s such a stigma around it. It’s a crutch for me.’ I’m still on it. It’s a crutch for me, too. It’s not healthy. I should get off it; I’ll be honest about that.”
