I’m just going to say it — I ABSOLUTELY love and adore watching the whole rivals-to-lovers trope. After watching the entire “bane of my existence” confession from Anthony Bridgerton, I was weak in my knees. I did not find it too cheesy or cringeworthy; rather, the yearning and passionate glances brought me the utmost joy. I cannot help it, but I am a huge sucker for the romantic-comedy genre, and I feel the only shows that are doing this genre right are vertical dramas. And I’m kind of addicted to them. It really does us no harm (except for giving us delusional expectations, but that’s a conversation for another time).
