Nobody is sure why, but the NFL’s choice of Bad Bunny, the most-streamed artist on Spotify in 2025, as this year’s Super Bowl halftime performer has triggered a kind of mass hysteria among conservatives.
TLDR: MAGA is mad because Bad Bunny’s songs are in Spanish, which is apparently super un-American, even though he is from Puerto Rico, which is simply a territory of the US.
If you’re down in the dumps about Bad Bunny taking the stage this weekend, fear not. For Turning Point USA, Charlie Kirk’s right-wing organization, has the antidote.
They’re putting on their own little shindig! It’s called the All-American Halftime Show, featuring performances by super popular, not-at-all-has-been artists like Kid Rock, Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice, and Gabby Barrett.
Conservatives can hardly contain their excitement!!!! To get everyone else pumped the heck up, one account posted a video of Kid Rock performing at the 2024 Republican National Convention. You know, just to give a taste of the all-American fun that’s to come this weekend!
Now, this resurfaced performance clip of Kid Rock singing “American Badass” (lol) is going super viral, but…not for the reasons conservatives may have been hoping for.
First, everyone is pointing out how miserable Usha Vance seems while Kid Rock bops around the stage.

“All of us listening to this,” another writes, alongside a photo of Usha Vance.
“Usha not even pretending. LOL!” one tweet reads, in response to another that says, “Even Vance knows it’s shit.”
Secondly, people are losing it over the way the crowd is reacting to the performance.
“The funniest part of this video are the people pretending to enjoy it.”
“Watch how everyone pretends to be dancing, but not one person sings the lyrics. How ridiculous they look pretending to like this, in their suit and tie. This is not their jive. You can tell this is forced.”

Finally, many are pointing out how truly embarrassing this whole thing is. “No amount of hatred for Puerto Rican musicians should make you pretend this is good,” one tweet reads.
