If you’ve been around any music corner of the internet lately, you’ve probably heard rumors that Calvin Harris and Miley Cyrus are feuding.
The speculation stems from an EDM song with Miley, which Calvin teased on social media last year. He reposted the song on TikTok this week — only this time, it had Jessie Reyez featured in Miley’s place. At the time, Calvin didn’t address Miley’s mysterious absence. He just wrote, “Yes I love it #newmusic #ocean.”
Naturally, people questioned what happened to his version with Miley. “Awwwwww where’s Miley!!!!!” one fan asked. But instead of answering the question, Calvin dodged it and wrote, “I do not know.”
When another person said that they liked Jessie’s version better than Miley’s, Calvin agreed he did, too.
He also pretty much said, “Oh well,” when a fan told him, “We only want Miley,” on the song.
Eventually, Calvin’s non-answers and abrupt responses led some to think there might be secret animosity between him and Miley — but Calvin insists that’s not the case. “I love Miley,” he wrote in a response to a question about why he was sending “hate” her way.
He also said it’s “not possible” to release her version, citing “crossed wires” without further elaboration. However, he did take a moment to praise Miley and her “amazing voice.”
For her part, Miley hasn’t publicly commented on the situation, but in the meantime, let me know if you would be here for a Miley and Calvin collab and what you think of the snippet with Jessie.
