“Delivery pizza ruined pizza in the ’80s. Before then, getting pizza was going to a restaurant, sitting down, and having it brought to your table. Once everyone could get it delivered, it became an any Tuesday night meal, and the pizza was made a lot cheaper. Fresh-from-the-oven pizza was so much better. Once a pizza goes into a cardboard box and steams itself, it is not the same product.”

I DEFINITELY remember this! We used to go to a place called Mountain Mike’s in the Bay Area, and the pizza came out of the oven right to your table. And the crust — there’s just something about it that’s never been the same since.
Also, this could be totally wrong, since it is a memory from being a little kid, but I swear Chuck E. Cheese’s pizza was, like, normal good pizza made in an oven. Not the microwaved atrocity they now serve.
Getting a passing score on this would be totally rad.View Entire Post ›
