“Years ago, a few of the boys and I went on a weekend guys’ trip to Vegas. All of us had girlfriends or wives, but that didn’t stop most of my friends from planning to hook up with whoever came their way. On our first night there, everyone got plastered, and someone suggested going to the strip club. Everyone said yes except for me and one of my mutual friends (I’ll call him J). The other guys gave us shit for it, but J and I stayed down in the casino for a bit before heading back to our hotel room. We actually had a nice night, as neither of us was really a fan of the flashing lights and noise. The next day, the other guys come up and tell us all about their wild night and insist that we go with them again that night.”

“Well, my buddy J was very faithful to his girlfriend, and again, he said no. The other guys started giving him shit for it, calling him a ‘pussy’ and saying it was a rite of passage because he was in Vegas. My friend was not backing down, and I think the reason it pissed off the rest of them was because they were willingly cheating on their girlfriends; meanwhile, my friend had the willpower to say no, essentially making the rest of them ‘look bad.’

J wanted to stay in and take a nap that night, so I went to the strip club with the rest of them. And every single one of those guys cheated on their girlfriends that night. One of them was dumb enough to video it;  another accidentally butt dialed his girlfriend while he was getting a blowjob, and I knew it was only a matter of time before shit hit the fan.

Well, the next morning, as we were all packing up to leave, the friend who had taken the video came into the room with a horrified look on his face. He had accidentally sent the video, which caught all of the other guys cheating (except me and J), to his wife. She had sent it to all of their SOs, and by the time we got home, all of them except for J and me had been dumped and left by their partners.

A couple of weeks later, the other guys were complaining about how ‘ridiculous’ it was that they all got dumped over a Vegas trip and a ‘dumb video.’ And then J, who had been relatively quiet while all of this was happening, said with a subtle smirk on his face, ‘That’s *exactly* why I didn’t go with you guys. Don’t think that makes me much of a pussy now, does it?’

Our friend group eventually dispersed, but I’m still friends with J, and he tells me all the time that he knew something like that would happen, and he was committed enough to his girlfriend to know better than to put himself in that situation. He and his girl just got married a year ago, and they’re now expecting a little boy; meanwhile, all of the other guys are still single. It just goes to show that you CAN be responsible in Vegas.”
