Stevie Nicks revealed on Oprah’s Master Class that she would keep a gram of cocaine in her boot in the ’70s. She took so much cocaine that by 1986, a plastic surgeon told Nicks she had a hole in her nose, and if she took one more “hit of cocaine,” it would be her last ever.
And while everyone around her in the ’70s thought she looked beautiful, Stevie Nicks disagrees. The drug addiction was evident in her eyes that looked like were “swimming in water.”

At Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl LX Halftime Show, he put on a truly incredible performance. He celebrated and showcased Puerto Rican culture in various ways, from older men playing dominoes to background performers wearing pava hats (traditionally worn by agricultural workers). Then, Lady Gaga surprised everyone with a salsa rendition of her hit “Die with a Smile.” Her outfit was more than just a plain old outfit. According to Harper’s BAZAAR, the flower she wore on her blue dress was a Flor de Maga, which is Puerto Rico’s “signature flower.”

Olivia Dean, aka the 2026 Grammy winner for Best New Artist (!!!!!), was named after the legendary Lauryn Hill. Dean’s parents blessed her with the middle name Lauryn because they’re huge fans of Hill’s music. “I feel like I channel it a bit, the power of Lauryn Hill,” Dean revealed to HELLO! Magazine. “I haven’t seen her live, though. I sort of want to just preserve where she exists in time for me. I listen to [The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill] now all the time.”
But the beautiful kicker? Olivia Dean got to see Lauryn Hill perform at the 2026 Grammys when Hill gave a stunning tribute to the late D’Angelo and Roberta Flack. Life, man!!!

When Olivia Rodrigo shared a photo for her 2021 concert film Sour Prom, Courtney Love claimed that she stole the concept from her 1994 album with Hole, Live Through This. Love posted a photo on Instagram (that’s since been deleted) comparing the two images, with a caption that read: “Spot the difference! #twinning!” Rodrigo responded to Love’s Instagram post, commenting: “love u and live through this sooooo much.” But Courtney’s comment, however, still had a little bit of a sour taste…
Courtney Love continued to weirdly dismiss Olivia Rodrigo, and took to Facebook to voice more opinions. She posted: “I’ve informed her I await her flowers and note. I sure hope it’s long. Does Disney teach kids reading and writing? God knows. Let’s see. Yes this is rude. Rage inducing? Honey, if I had a dollar for everytime this happens? I’d be real rich!”

In Ariana Grande’s music video for “God Is a Woman,” Madonna is the voice of God, reciting part of Samuel L. Jackson’s famous speech in Pulp Fiction (which was adapted from the Bible verse Ezekiel 25:17). On The Tonight Show, Grande recalled how the iconic collaboration came about: “I texted her because without Madonna, I wouldn’t be able to make a song like that. She paved the way for all of us, and has been here fighting that fight.”
Ariana Grande continued: “I texted her, ‘Hey, my next single is called ‘God is a Woman,’ I’d love to send it to you and see what you think. There’s a little part in the video that would be perfect for you if you would even consider doing it.'” And do you know what the Queen of Pop’s response was?! “Oh, yeah! I’ll get into the studio tomorrow. I’m in Portugal, so it’s a weird time right now, but I’ll jump in. Do you need me to be there in the video or anything, be on camera?” Grande: “No! You just need to do this voice-over. I’m so grateful that you’d even consider it.”

During the filming of The Last Song, Miley Cyrus treated everyone behind the scenes with the utmost respect. BuzzFeed Community user erinberson, who worked on set, recalled a hilarious encounter she had with Cyrus. “We were filming in a community college (staged as a hospital) and during a break, I went into the restroom — it was totally empty except for Miley, who was sitting up on the wall of sinks with her makeup artist, just chatting,” she said. “I really had to go, so I sheepishly apologized and said I’d be quick, in case I was interrupting. As I was heading into the stall, Miley said, ‘Do you want me to turn the water on for you?! I get SO pee-shy. Here, I’ll just turn it on for you.'”
BuzzFeed Community user erinberson continued: “I chuckled and said, ‘It’s okay, I lived in a sorority house with 30 other women, so you learn to get over it quickly, but thanks!’ As I washed my hands, Miley divulged how she wished someone had been there to turn the water on for her at the Grammys when Mariah Carey was in the stall next to her.”

Billie Eilish wrote “Bellyache” from the perspective of a serial killer. At the 2018 Forbes Under 30 Summit, Eilish was asked about the inspiration behind her hit “Bellyache,” mainly because the lyrics felt very obscure. She said, “I like writing in characters — I like putting myself in a place that I normally wouldn’t be, or a place that somebody I know is in. I feel like you don’t have to go through exactly what you’re writing about — it’s art.”
Billie Eilish continued to go into detail about the dark meaning behind the song and how she wrote it with her brother in her garage: “[‘Bellyache’] is from the perspective of a serial killer, and I don’t know how in the world that came about. [My brother] was like, ‘My friends aren’t far in the back of my car, are there bodies?’ And I was like, ‘No. It should be: In the back of my car, lay their bodies. And we both were, like, [screaming].”

Mariah Carey’s closet in her Tribeca apartment isn’t a typical one — not only does she have a giant walk-in, but she also has various rooms to organize her luxurious items. One room is for gowns and dresses, another room is for shoes, and one room is strictly for lingerie.
Another celeb-centric item she has in her apartment, you ask? Marilyn Monroe’s CHILDHOOD PIANO. Like…truly incredible.
And here’s what Carey’s closet looked like in the same apartment 21 years ago on MTV Cribs, for comparison’s sake:

On Barbra Streisand’s California property, she doesn’t have just one house — she has four buildings. Outside one of the buildings (a barn where she records music), there’s a tranquil, color-coordinated pond. In her book My Passion for Design, she wrote, “Since the houses are barn red [and] trimmed with black and white, the fish [in the pond], of course, have to be black and white — right?”

There are many famous musicians out there who’ve paid subtle tributes to great artists who came before them. Seeing these famous musicians honor them never fails to move me, especially when it comes to female artists. Beyoncé notably honored Tina Turner at the Kennedy Center in 2005 by rocking the famous flame dress Turner was known for wearing in the late ’70s.
The flame dress was designed by Bob Mackie and was also worn by notable artists like Cher.

Prince was a deep admirer of Joni Mitchell growing up, and even claimed her 1975 album, The Hissing of Summer Lawns, was one of his favorite pieces of music of all time. Because he was such a big fan, as a teenager, he wrote her letters expressing his admiration for her lyrics and musical style. Mitchell revealed in a 2005 interview with New York Magazine that “Prince used to write me fan mail with all of the U’s and hearts — that way that he writes. [My] office took it as mail from the lunatic fringe, and just tossed [his letters!].”
Joni Mitchell remembered spotting Prince in the audience at one of her concerts in the ’70s, when he was only 15. “Prince attended one of my concerts in Minnesota. I remember seeing him sitting in the front row when he was very young. He must have been about 15. He was in an aisle seat, and he had unusually big eyes,” she said. “He watched the whole show with his collar up, looking side to side — you couldn’t miss him. He was a little Prince-ling.”

Dionne Warwick hosted an intervention in the ’90s with Snoop Dogg and Tupac about their misogynistic music lyrics. “We were kind of scared and shook up. We’re powerful right now, but she’s been powerful forever,” Snoop Dogg said. “Thirty-some years in the game, in the big home with a lot of money and success.”
Dionne Warwick said to Snoop Dogg and Tupac, “You’re going to have families, you’re going to have children, you’re going to have little girls. One day, that little girl is going to look at you and say, ‘Daddy, did you really say that? Is that really you?'”

In 2018, Lauryn Hill was the most sampled artist of the year. Cardi B sampled her 1998 hit “Ex-Factor” for her song “Be Careful,” and Drake sampled the same song for his hit “Nice for What.”
About a month after Drake’s “Nice for What” became a major hit all thanks to sampling Lauryn Hill, Hill gave a hat-tip to Drake in one of her concerts. She remixed her own version of “Nice for What” at the Apollo Theater (where she was once booed as a teenager in 1987), and rapped these lyrics: “See, this is ‘Ex-Factor’, he took the sample. My shit is classic, here’s an example.”

In Destiny Child’s “Bootylicious” music video, Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams had Stevie Nicks playing guitar in the beginning sequence. This was an homage to Nicks, since the group sampled the rock star’s hit “Edge of Seventeen.”

Cyndi Lauper’s hit “She Bop” is actually about masturbation. In a 2014 interview, Lauper said that one of the She’s So Unusual songwriters called her up in the middle of the night and asked her to write a song about masturbation for the album. She revealed, “Stephen [Broughton Lunt] said, ‘No woman has had this before; you’ll be the first.’ And I said, ‘Well, I’ll be good for first — I was the first female streaker in my college.'”
Lauper was determined to be the first female artist to tackle this subject in a song, but she struggled to write the lyrics. She made Lunt buy her sexually-explicit magazines like Playgirl and Blueboy at a store near the recording studio for some lyric inspiration.

According to Jane Fonda, during the infamous slap scene in Monster-in-Law (2005), Jennifer Lopez actually scratched her with her big diamond ring. “Jennifer had this enormous diamond ring,” Fonda said on The Drew Barrymore Show. “When she slapped me, it cut open across my eyebrow. She’s never apologized.”

Stephanie Beatriz, who played Mirabel Madrigal in the iconic Disney movie Encanto, recorded “Waiting on a Miracle” as she went into labor. In a 2022 interview with Variety, Beatriz revealed, “I didn’t want to tell anybody at Disney because I didn’t want anyone to freak out. But I was already having some contractions when we were scheduled to record that day — I was like, ‘Well, fingers crossed I finish the song before [the baby] comes!'” Variety reported that Beatriz’s daughter was born the day after she recorded “Waiting on a Miracle,” so it was all a miracle indeed!

Before she tragically died in a plane crash in 2001, Aaliyah was set to star as Zee in The Matrix: Reloaded. She had shot several scenes for the movie and even took a deep interest in making films in addition to making music — she starred in movies like Romeo Must Die (2000) and Queen of the Damned (posthumously released in 2002). Nona Gaye ultimately replaced Aaliyah in The Matrix: Reloaded and reprised her role as Zee in The Matrix Revolutions in 2003.

While recording “Partition” in the studio, Beyoncé didn’t come prepared with any lyrics. She completely ad-libbed the song as soon as she heard the bass line and beat. In Beyoncé’s Self-Titled documentary, she revealed that she went into the recording studio without a pen and paper and just started singing into the mic. She said: “I’m in the studio and I hear this bass line and this beat. It has snaps, and it has two tracks — it’s very simple. It takes me back to when me and my husband first met and he’s trying to scoop me and he thinks I’m the hottest thing in the world.”
Beyoncé revealed that it was important for her to express her sexual fantasies in “Partition” because of the complex feelings women experience after giving birth for the first time. She said, “You could have your child and you could still have fun and still be sexy and still have dreams and still live for yourself. I don’t have any shame about being sexual, and I’m not embarrassed about it.”

When Christina Aguilera recorded her 2002 hit “Beautiful,” the opening line “don’t look at me” was completely ad-libbed. Linda Perry, the songwriter behind “Beautiful,” told Rolling Stone in 2019: “[Christina] stood there in my studio with the lyrics in her hands, and then said to this friend she brought along, ‘Don’t look at me’ in that little whispery voice.”
“I knew I was going to keep that on the record, and I knew she was the right person for the song,” said Perry. “I realized: ‘Oh, she’s insecure. She’s one of those beautiful people who’s got everything but is super insecure. Okay, this song is hers.'”
