If you happen to fly on a plane that has entertainment included in the ticket, you may have a go-to movie you like to watch to pass the time. So when Reddit user MeanderingThoughts5 asked, “Your favorite movie to watch on a plane,” so many people shared their favorites. Here’s what they said below:
1.
“I think I’ve watched Crazy Rich Asians a bagillion times at this point while flying.”
2.
“I always pick new ones, ideally from the Asian/Indian selections (on British Airways, Finnair, etc, international flights). Chinese in particular. It’s rare to see some that never make it to the theaters in the West.”
3.
“I like the Lord of the Rings trilogy, too! Great for beginning an adventure.”
4.
“I always go back to Ratatouille. I can’t remember the last time Delta didn’t have it.”
5.
“Titanic or anything really long that I’ve already seen — that way I can close my eyes and drift off, and when I wake up, I’m able to guess how much sleep I’ve had based on where I am in the film.”
7.
“Flew to Japan in June. I watched three newer releases that I hadn’t seen before and realized, almost in a panic, that we were only halfway there, and I couldn’t get to sleep. I put on Singin’ in the Rain and immediately relaxed. I’ve seen it several times, and so I didn’t need to pay too close attention. It was so great to calm me down.”
9.
“Any of the Ocean’s Eleven movies. The editing is so quick that you always see something new you didn’t catch before.”
10.
“They usually have all-timer movies that aren’t on my streaming, which is my go-to, most recently Casablanca, Dunkirk, and A Few Good Men.“
11.
“Maid in Manhattan every time I fly!! Perfect with a drink or several.”
12.
“Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. It makes me feel very grateful to be on a plane.”
13.
“Blade Runner 2049. Puts me right to sleep. Don’t get me wrong, it’s an excellent movie. But if I’m on a Transatlantic flight, have a few glasses of wine, then throw this on? I’m out like a light.”
14.
“Snakes on a Plane. It is always helpful to know what to do in the event that there are mother fucking snakes on this mother fucking plane.”
15.
“Gone With the Wind! It’s four hours long, you learn about the Civil War, and it’s a great movie.”
16.
“It’s always something I’ve never seen before and have been wanting to watch for a while, and it always includes a very graphic sex scene or an extremely graphic murder. I’m not expecting it, and usually I’m looking around the whole time it’s going on and lowering my iPad.”
17.
And finally, “Whatever the person in the seat diagonally in front of me is watching.”
