2026 is shaping up to be an incredibly exciting year for entertainment. Between long-awaited TV returns, massive franchise comebacks, and brand-new films — there’s truly something out there for everyone to watch.
As a proud fangirl myself, I’m already bookmarking my entire year around these upcoming releases. Here are my top picks for movies and TV shows you’ll want to add to your watchlist for 2026.

His and Hers — January 8, 2026. Netflix is starting off the new year with a mystery-thriller starring Jon Bernthal and Tessa Thompson, based on Alice Feeney’s bestselling novel. Audiences can expect a messy Georgia murder that will bring the pair together into a tangled investigation.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms — January 18, 2026. A new Game of Thrones era is here! Set 100 years before the original series, this prequel will follow Ser Duncan the Tall (Peter Claffey) and his chaotic squire, Egg (Dexter Sol Ansel) as they journey through Westeros.

Bridgerton Season 4, Part 1 and 2 — January 29 and February 26, 2026. Oh, we are so back. Season 4 dives into the third book of Julia Quinn’s series and finally will have the spotlight on Benedict — the Bridgerton who’s sworn he isn’t ready to settle down. That is, until a masked lady in silver completely derails his plan.

Euphoria Season 3 — April 2026. It’s finally coming back! This chapter jumps 5 years into the future, with Rue navigating life on the south border of Mexico while indebted to drug dealer, Laurie. Fans can expect a darker, grittier world, and storylines that will push the series into an uncharted territory.

People We Meet on Vacation — January 9, 2026. Emily Henry stans, this is your moment! The beloved friends-to-lovers romance book is now a Netflix flick! Following the story of two best friends who live miles apart but reunite for one week of vacation every year, this movie is going to give you all the feels.

The Moment — January 30, 2026. Charli XCX’s new film tracks her explosive rise to pop stardom after the release of Brat — but with an incredibly fun and meta twist. Instead of a standard tour documentary, The Moment pokes fun at the genre itself, bringing a self-aware, chaotic, and totally refreshing take on pop fame that feels unmistakably Charli.

Wuthering Heights — February 14, 2026. Emerald Fennell (Saltburn) is bringing her signature stylish look to this new adaption of the classic novel. Starring Jacob Elordi and Margot Robbie leading the cast — an utterly beautiful pair, I must add. Audiences can expect dreamy gothic visuals and intense romance like no other.

The Cat in the Hat — February 27, 2026. Just when you thought the live action film couldn’t get better (I still have nightmares of Mike Myers in the cat suit — it’s back! The story of The Cat in the Hat is getting a star-studded animated glow up. With Bill Hader, Quinta Brunson, America Ferrera, and Bowen Yang on board, this take on the iconic Dr. Seuss tale is set to be rowdy, colourful, and ridiculously fun.

Project Hail Mary — March 20, 2026. Based on Andy Weir’s (The Martian) best-selling novel, this sci-fi flick follows a lone science teacher trying to save humanity after waking up on a spaceship far from Earth.

The Drama — April 3, 2026. Zendaya and Robert Pattinson starring in an A24 drama? Sign me up. The film follows a couple whose romance takes a dramatic turn for the worst right before their wedding day. And with Ari Aster as producer, this is sure to be a compelling flick.

Dune 3: Messiah — December 18, 2026. While details are still under wraps, the third film will follow the events of Herbert’s second book, which takes place 12 years after the events of Dune.

Michael — April 24, 2026. After a resurgence in biopics, there will finally be one following the story of Michael Jackson. Starring Jaafar Jackson (Michael Jackson’s nephew), the film will show the rise of the star, from his time in the Jackson 5 to global pop icon.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 — May 1, 2026. Yes, it’s true. The original cast — Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci — is officially back. The sequel will navigate modern media, and the digital shift in fashion.

I Love Boosters — May 22, 2026. Boot’s Riley (Sorry to Bother You) is back with a new sci-fi comedy starring Keke Palmer leading her “Velvet Gang” of shoplifters. After targeting a powerful CEO, everything goes horribly wrong. Audiences can expect a social and political commentary, and a very quirky charm.

Toy Story 5 — June 19, 2026. Buzz and Woody are back again. This chapter follows the toys struggling to stay relevant as Bonnie becomes interested in technology.

The Odyssey — July 17, 2026. Christopher Nolan is taking on Homer’s epic, starring Matt Damon as Odysseus along with a star-studded cast of Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Robert Pattinson. This is also the first film shot entirely with IMAX cameras, so prepare to be visually amazed.
