Back in 2002, they were promoted as being able to ‘change urban mobility’ and were heavily hyped as the next big thing for commuting and getting around town. They suck. They’re difficult to use, expensive to maintain, and really unsafe — not just due to the design but the overwhelming amount of user error and just general chaos that comes with letting people on motorized vehicles.”
